Fall Welcome Program 2008
About the Fall Welcome Program
Friday, August 22
The Fall Welcome Program for all incoming students and move-in for students living in the Residence Halls is Friday, August 22. This program will pick up where we left off at Summer Orientation. The following information is designed to assist you in making your complete Orientation experience an enjoyable event. Please take time to review the following information:
Welcome Program Schedule
An invitation is extended to your family to attend the first portion of the program on Friday, August 22, 1:30pm thru 3:00 pm. Families have always been an important part and well represented at this program.
Student Affairs designed the Welcome Program to help acclimate you to college life, both academically and socially. It is for this reason that we require the entire incoming class to attend.
Meetings with academic personnel will enlighten you to topics you will use on a daily basis. On Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August24, you will take a tour of University City and participate in special activities planned by student government, resident advisors and your orientation leaders. Hopefully, you will feel more comfortable about your new environment, and have an opportunity to meet your fellow classmates. Don't miss an event, you will regret it later!
For more information, see the detailed and updated Program Schedule (pdf file.)
Welcome Information Packet
Your welcome packet will be available on Friday, August 22. This packet will contain valuable information you will need for the year.
During the Welcome Program on Friday, you will meet with your academic advisor to review your class schedule who may recommend any adjustments. We ask that you wait until that time to ask any questions regarding your schedule.
Residence Hall Move-In (Residents only)
Please review the information mailed to you during the summer. Your cooperation with upperclass students during move-in is appreciated. Greek Life and organizational members will be available to assist you with handling some of your articles (look for students wearing Lugger and Tugger shirts). Please remember, Goodman Hall does not have an elevator, please pack in small containers and boxes.
Medical Forms
To ensure the continued health and well-being of students, USP requires that all full-time students complete and submit the required health forms in the Student Health Information Packet mailed to all accepted students upon payment of deposit.
These forms include the:
- Medical History Questionnaire
- Emergency Information
- Verification of Medical Insurance
All forms must be completed and returned by August 1, prior to the start of class.
Information regarding health policy requirements will be provided during a presentation by SHAC staff during orientation. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, obtain additional forms, and submit all required forms to assure compliance of USP's health policy, and assure a smooth transition on move-in-day. You may also contact SHAC directly at 215-596-8536.
